Hope is a powerful force, and together, we can turn hope into reality for those who want a better future.

Your generosity makes the difference between someone having a bed their first night here and the tools they need to reach services.  Help bridge the gap as people arrive and struggle to make Oregon their new home!!

Our Work

IMIrJ, the Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice accompanies and equips communities and people of faith to advance immigrant justice through direct accompaniment of immigrants facing detention and deportation, policy advocacy at local, state and national levels, and collective action.

Founded in 2006, IMIrJ is in relationship with leaders from over 140 congregations throughout the state of Oregon.

We are an organization formed by diverse faith communities, faith leaders, and individuals called by our conscience to respond actively and publicly to the suffering of our immigrant kin in the U.S. due to unjust immigration policies. Through advocacy, accompaniment, and organizing, we expose the harm that these policies and actions inflict on the entire community and take radical action for the transformation of power, providing real opportunities to take action for change. Just as we open our hearts to provide welcome and accompaniment to people facing persecution and oppression, we open our doors to offer Sanctuary for immigrants faced with family separation, detention, and/or deportation.

Congregational Accompaniment Program

IMIrJ offers multiple ways for congregations to offer much-needed solidarity. We can work with you to figure out the best role for your congregation now. Options include becoming a:
