Speaking tour: Presentation by Maudi' Tzy - Guatemalan Women, Healing Toward Justice

 

Through Maudi' Tzy's work as a psychologist and a member of the Community Studies and Psycho-social Action Team (ECAP), Maudí has played a crucial role in integrating healing practices into movements for social and environmental justice in Guatemala.  Indigenous Guatemalan leader and psychologist who supported those used as sex slaves by the military in successfully prosecuting and convicting them: for the first time in the Americas, sex slavery was found to be a crime against humanity.

Brought to the US by NISGUA and to Portland be PCASC.  The purpose of this tour is "to celebrate this historic victory by building toward cross-border movements for gender justice and an end to violence against women!"
