A Muslim Experience

IMIrJ member First Unitarain Church hosts:

Listen to the voices of two Portland residents.

Zahra Abukar, a Somalian refugee, who moved here for safety, is a student whose goal is to offer culturally-competent mental health services to under served populations such as immigrants and refugees.

Wajdi Said, the President of the Muslim Educational Trust, has worked in the community to promote a better understanding of Islam.

Presenters will share their experiences related to America’s attitudes toward Islam and people of color.
