Screening of "Harvest of Empire"

  • St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church 1704 Northeast 43rd Avenue Portland, OR, 97213 United States (map)

At a time of heated and divisive debate over immigration, this powerful documentary
examines the direct connection between the long history of U.S. intervention in Latin
America and the immigration crisis we face today. Based on the groundbreaking book
by award-winning journalist and Democracy Now! co-host Juan González, Harvest of
Empire takes a look at the role that U.S. economic and military interests played in
triggering an unprecedented wave of migration that is transforming our nation’s
cultural and economic landscape.

Join us for a screening of this document on Friday, February 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
The film will be shown in the Nativity Hall. A short discussion follows the film
screening, which is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

This event is presented by St. Michael’s Immigrant Welcoming Congregation (IWC)
