WELCOME THE STRANGER
Carrying on the tradition of radical hospitality, putting into practice values of justice and dignity…
What is Sanctuary?
Sanctuary is one of the most ancient traditions that we have as a people of faith. Drawing on this long tradition, communities of faith today are witness to the current need to declare themselves Sanctuary for immigrants, as the rise of deportations continues to separate families. In the 1980’s we were compelled by the call to welcome the stranger and opened our doors to newly arriving refugees. Today we are moved by the call to love our neighbors as ourselves, as those who are entering into Sanctuary are most often members of our communities - our neighbors.
