Hope is a powerful force, and together, we can turn hope into reality for those who want a better future.
Your generosity can make the difference between someone having a bed on their first night here and the tools they need to access services. Help bridge the gap as people arrive and struggle to make Oregon their new home!
What is the Accompaniment Program?
The Accompaniment Program exists to support our community members who are forced to navigate the United States’ complicated, outdated, and exploitative immigration proceedings. We train volunteers to walk side-by-side with individuals as they attend I.C.E. check-ins, immigration court hearings, Intensive Supervision Appearance Program appointments, and other mandatory dates during their immigration process.
IMIrJ Sanctuary Fund
The IMIrJ Sanctuary Fund provides much-needed emergency resources to newly arrived migrants. People and families arrive in Portland seeking asylum. There are minimal programs that provide services or resources.
IMIrJ supports migrants with emergency shelter, food, and other support. We can provide this support as long as our Fund has resources. Your donation to the Fund keeps the Fund viable.
One-time donations are welcomed. Recurring donations are even more welcomed.
Please send an email to info@IMIrJ.org if you have questions.
“Thank you for securing our status as a sanctuary city and state.”
Our mission
IMIrJ’s mission is to accompany and equip communities and people of faith in Oregon to advance immigrant justice through the direct accompaniment of immigrants facing detention and deportation, policy advocacy at local, state, and national levels, and purposeful organizing. Through networks of relationships, we create a more just world for immigrants, migrants, and asylum seekers by taking immediate humanitarian action and long-term collective, intentional action.
Congregational Accompaniment Program
IMIrJ offers multiple ways for congregations to offer much-needed solidarity. We can work with you to figure out the best role for your congregation now. Options include becoming a:
1. Host congregation
2. Support Congregation
3. Funding Partner Congregation
